VIDEO: Lindsey Graham issues statement on Trump’s lynching comments, gets hit with massive backlash
As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by TheHill.com:
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Tuesday said President Trump is absolutely right to call the House impeachment process a “lynching.”
“This is a lynching in every sense. This is un-American,” Graham said to reporters.
The article goes on to state the following:
“I’ve never seen a situation in my lifetime as a lawyer where somebody is accused of a major misconduct who cannot confront the accuser, call witnesses on their behalf and have the discussion in the light of day so the public can judge,” he said.
A firestorm erupted among Democrats after Trump tweeted Tuesday morning, “So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights. All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here – a lynching. But we will WIN!”

Graham is now being hit with backlash for defending Trump’s remarks, with many using the incident to call for donations to his Democrat challenger.
Michael Avenatti, former attorney to Trump accuser Stormy Daniels, tweeted, “[email protected] has no clue what lynching is. But he sure as hell knows what kissing ass is.”

Twitter users are slamming Graham for defending Trump’s remark:
Shame on you, Lindsey Graham! Absolutely appalling.

@LindseyGrahamSC just sided w/our racist president by stating he agrees that Trump’s impeachment = a “lynching.” Graham stands w/the racists & stands AGAINST decency, diversity, compassion and inclusion. None but the hateful and the racist can ever again cast a vote for Graham.

A Senator representing South Carolina calling a legal Constitutional investigation a lynching is even worse than Trump! I can’t believe how far Lindsey Graham has fallen. pic.twitter.com/1mENj4RWjk

No, @LindseyGrahamSC what’s happening to Trump is not a lynching “in every sense.”
It is literally not a lynching in any sense whatsoever. None. Zero.
Shame on you.
164 people were lynched in 36 different counties of South Carolina.
You know better

Here’s a non-exhaustive list of key senses in which impeachment is _not_ a lynching:
1) It is not racially motivated.
2) It is a legal process expressly set forth in the text of the Constitution.
3) It doesn’t result in death of person being lynched. https://t.co/dE9Ej72aPn

“So yes, this is a lynchng in every sense”
Lynching is extra judicial murder by a mob. It’s what Graham’s political and ideological predecessors did to intimidate and terrorize Black people.
