The importance of patriotism, faith in God, and having children is significantly lower among millennials and Generation Z, compared to previous generations.

In a new poll conducted by the Wall Street Journal and NBC News, nearly 80% of people aged 55-91 said being patriotic is important to them, while only 42% of millennials and Generation Z, or those aged 18-38, said the same. Thirty percent of millennials and Generation Z said religion was important, compared to the over 75% of baby boomers, with just over 30% of millennials and Generation Z saying it was important to have children.

The article goes on to state the following:

Areas where the younger generations had placed higher importance compared to boomers were tolerance for others and self-fulfillment, with financial security being almost tied between the two age groups. The importance of hard work was above 80% among all age groups.

“There’s an emerging America where issues like children, religion and patriotism are far less important. And in America, it’s the emerging generation that calls the shots about where the country is headed,” said Bill McInturff, a Republican pollster who conducted the survey with Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt.

Similarly, a Gallup Poll conducted around Independence Day this year found that only 45% are “extremely proud” to be an American, which was the second straight year that the percentage dipped below 50%.

Unfortunately the education system is to blame, if parents do not get involved in what is happening in schools it’s going to get much worse.
The education system needs a complete overhaul and many teachers need to be gone.
Teachers are giving their opinions on political and worse,. Their goal should be to educate and not indoctrination of these kids.
I wish the Draft would be a must, it sure would shape up some of these young kids that think the world owes them a living, show them respect.
I think smaller towns are more patriotic than large cities, the Midwest doesn’t have some of the issues that California does and others.
We went to my granddaughters Soccer Game last night she plays for a University here, they played the National Anthem and everyone stood and either saluted or had their hand over their heart.
They also played patriotic songs, until we the people stand up to those that are destroying this Nation and get involved and stop what is happening in schools and universities we will see this downward trend continue.
