President Donald Trump and former President George W. Bush can review a request from House Democrats for records relating to Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s work as a top White House aide.

The National Archives, the agency to whom Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee directed their request, is required by federal law to notify the sitting president and former presidents of such demands, so that the presidents can review the relevant records for possible assertions of executive privilege.

The article goes on to state the following:

During Kavanaugh’s confirmation process, Democrats objected when the administration withheld almost 30,000 records from Kavanaugh’s work as a White House lawyer. Legal representatives of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum told the Senate Judiciary Committee those documents touch “the core of a president’s constitutional privileges,” including counsel to the president himself, advice about prospective judicial nominees, and discussions relating to legislation or executive orders under consideration.

Executive privilege is defined as:

the privilege, claimed by the president for the executive branch of the US government, of withholding information in the public interest.

“This power can be used in two circumstances: ‘(1) certain national security needs and (2) protecting the privacy of White House deliberations when it is in the public interest to do so.’ The second part is especially valuable, as it allows presidential advisors to freely speak their minds without the threat of a subpoena,” explains.

Will this garbage never end? The Democrats have done absolutely nothing except cause this country problems and destroy the Foundation it was Founded upon.
The evil amongst these Democrats is appalling and at some point there has to be accountability, this can’t go on, people’s lives are and have been ruined.

    • Debra August 13th, 2019 at 10:46 pm

Can you believe the Democrats have this much hate in their heart for one person? Why can’t they just leave him alone for his remainder of time in the White House and try to win 2020? Love Our POTUS

This is outside of enough already. What the hell?
It’s past time these houses, committes and rabid Democrats be held accountable to their harassment, sedition, insurrection and treason!!!
Attotney-Client Privelege should be in play here.
If this goes through and these mad dogs are not muzzled, there will be no more open communication with the future presidents without fear of apprisals.
They are dogged determine to undermine the structure of government.
Why aren’t they going after traitor Obama’s records?
Congress needs to clean it’s house – sanctions and strong recommendations for resignations.

Sweet Baby Jesus the people are so out of touch with reality, the man has already been sworn in as the supreme court justice, I’m so tired of the needless and senseless inquiries about things that can’t be changed,I think it’s time all of Congress was investigated and let’s see what they would have against them.

  7. D. Cuff August 12th, 2019 at 9:37 am

As a 86 year old once a Democrat, I’ve had it with them and their unrelenting attempts to tear apart the very foundation of our government by attacking those legally in office or appointed. I’m amazed that anyone would want to expose themself to their unrelenting attacks. What happened to the once great Democratic Party???

  8. Richard August 13th, 2019 at 8:14 am

Please remember the crap that the Democrats pull the next time you vote.
The MUST lose the House and have no chance at the Senate.
The Democrats must also nominate Bill de Blasio for president! ROFL
