LANSING, Mich. (AP) — After passing waves of tax cuts in recent years, some lawmakers in several Republican-dominated states have decided it’s time to make a big exception and are pushing for tax increases to fix roads that are crumbling from years of neglect.

In the past month alone, the Republican governors of Ohio, Alabama and Arkansas have signed fuel tax hikes. Meanwhile, proposed increases are being considered by three legislatures that are fully or partly GOP-controlled, including a whopping 45-cents-a-gallon hike in Michigan.

The article goes on to state the following:

The moves show a growing willingness in conservative places to take on the fearsome politics of higher taxes, at least for infrastructure. Republicans who otherwise support lower taxes are acknowledging that cutting government spending elsewhere in the budget won’t cover the cost of repairing the many miles of potholed roads and creaky bridges.

Maybe if our taxes were not going out to pay for illegals and migrants that are not refugees and using the system, we would have money for fixing roads and other important things.
If citizens would know how much goes towards these so called refugees that are using our taxpayer money they would be appalled.
The money they are getting is disgusting and fraudulent, they are buying nice houses and nice cars all from the Taxpayers money.
We will never fix this corrupt system and they will continue to take our money while we become poorer and they do well.

Who’s fault is it that there is not enough in budget to cover the cost of road repair?…it’s not ours. Check the unnecessary spending(illegals, sanctuary cities, other countries that hate us), takes time, but needed.

😳 To each state: How about following Mississippi’s lead? Use lottery and gambling proceeds for infastructure projects. It is that simple. So maybe consider using those brains and stop raising taxes, when it isn’t necessary.
