New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city will take the Trump administration to court over a new rule that will prohibit entry to immigrants or deny visa renewals based on their reliance to government benefits.

“The President is launching a direct assault on our immigrant brothers and sisters. The America we know was built by hardworking dreamers from all over the world,” de Blasio, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, said in a Monday press statement. “That’s the America we’re fighting to protect. To our immigrant New Yorkers: We stand with you now and always. To our president: We’ll see you in court.”

The article goes on to state the following:

New York City’s Office of Immigrant Affair’s Commissioner Bitta Mostofi concurred with the mayor, saying, “The ‘public charge’ rule is yet another attempt by the Trump administration to instill fear and concern among working immigrant families, but rest assured — New Yorkers are fighters and the city will do everything in our power to ensure people have the resources they need to at this critical time.”

Immigrants seeking green cards and legal status must first prove that they will not be a burden to the U.S. The new rules say U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officers will weigh public assistance and factors such as education, household income, and health when determining whether to grant legal status.

America has welcomed immigrants who came here legally, was willing to work and become part of America. Not illegals who come to leach off of the American people. Big difference.

Did he even hear his own words? “Built by “hard working” immigrants. Key being working. Working American’s don’t collect welfare, why would working illegal invaders be able to? So businesses can pay them less money because the tax payer is supporting them? So they can send all their paychecks back to their home countries? Hard working immigrants shouldn’t be collecting welfare if hard working citizens aren’t.

If came legally and work to support them and their families and pay taxes ok. Legal or illegal if my tax dollars support them then get them out. It’s that simple. My tax dollars should help our Veterans, Senior Citxens or help get homeless persons and families in programs to find them jobs and eventually homes or apartments of their own. That is the bottom line.

Immigration should be legal, these illegals are not, they are using the system and we are paying for it and it can’t go on like this.
They send Billions of Dollars back to their countries, well stay there and work to make your country better.
These males and most of them are males are cowards and want to get everything free, we the Taxpayers have had enough. De Blasio is an idiot and this country will go broke trying to sustain illegals that use and abuse the system. Worse take innocent lives.

The Chinese people for years have had sponsors for their people to come over here and those sponsors help them financially. They are not a burden to the United States. I backed Trump with what he’s doing he’s the only one that’s looking out for the American citizen. God bless Trump God Bless America and Trump in 2020

If New Yorkers want to individually sponsor each & every illegal alien & commit to support them for 5 yrs w/ZERO public assistance, then we have something to talk about. Otherwise, get out. Period. Come in like all legal immigrants have; even these changes are not okay. And Medicare? No way!

This law about fiscal responsibility has been on the books for decades. Just another part of our immigration law no one has ever bothered to enforce. The cheap labor lobby RINOs and identity pandering Democrats just plain ignored it. They enriched themselves and gained political power on the backs of American tax payers by deliberately not enforcing the laws they themselves wrote and enacted. They are all liars, cheats, and thieves.
