The Senate passed President Trump’s United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade in a bipartisan vote of 89 to 10 Thursday, giving the president his second major trade win in as many days.

The vote took place just before impeachment articles were presented in the Senate.

The USMCA, which replaces the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement, now goes to the White House, allowing Trump to fulfill a key 2016 campaign goal.

The Washington Examiner also noted that “USMCA largely keeps most of NAFTA intact but adds provisions aimed at ending outsourcing of manufacturing jobs to Mexico, limiting the use of supply chains abroad, and opening up Canada to more U.S. farm goods, such as dairy products.”

Only 10 senators voted against the bill: Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, Ed Markey, Jack Reed, Bernie Sanders, Brian Schatz, Pat Toomey, and Sheldon Whitehouse.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tweeted, “The Senate just passed the USMCA. Next stop: @POTUS’s desk for his signature. I’m grateful to the President for prioritizing this deal and delivering on this major promise. It’s a big win for Kentucky and for American families in all 50 states.”

The White House responded, tweeting, “For years, politicians—both Democrat and Republican—have promised to replace NAFTA with a deal that better protects American jobs and workers. President @realDonaldTrump delivered, and the Senate just passed USMCA with an overwhelming 89-10 vote! Promise MADE, Promise KEPT!”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declared Thursday morning that he would be voting AGAINST the bill, because “it doesn’t address climate change, the greatest threat facing our planet.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders backed up Schumer, tweeting, “As one of the only candidates opposing Trump’s trade deal, I want to thank Sen. @ChuckSchumer for joining this fight. USMCA will make climate change worse. We will do better when I’m president.”
