The Saudi student who fatally shot three people at a Florida naval base Friday [had] hosted a dinner party the night before to watch videos of mass shootings, a U.S. official said Saturday.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press that authorities told him one Saudi student was recording outside the building while the shooting took place. He said 10 Saudi students are being held at the base and that several others are still unaccounted for.

The article goes on to state the following:

Officials are working to determine whether the attack was motivated by terrorism.

Several news outlets, including ABC, The New York Times, and Daily Mail, have reported that a “manifesto,” “will,” or “screed” written by the student, criticizing United States support for Israel and expressing hatred for the U.S., has been found.

According to the Daily Mail, the student blasted out a “hate-fueled” manifesto on Twitter ahead of the attack, calling the United States “a nation of evil” just before his shooting rampage.

“The man, identified as Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, opened fire inside a classroom at Naval Air Station in Pensacola early Friday morning. Police quickly responded to the scene and he was shot dead,” the Daily Mail reports. “Alshamrani was a second lieutenant attending the aviation school at the base. The Pentagon say his training with the US military began in August 2016, and was due to finish in August 2020.

“On Friday evening, the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist media, claimed they had tracked a Twitter account belonging to Alshamrani which featured a disturbing manifesto written just hours before the shooting.”

The tweet read: “I’m against evil, and America as a whole has turned into a nation of evil. I’m not against you for just being American, I don’t hate you because your freedoms, I hate you because every day you supporting, funding and committing crimes not only against Muslims but also humanity.”

According to ABC News, investigators were trying to determine if the tweet was written by the shooter.

Following the attack, President Donald J. Trump tweeted, “Just received a full briefing on the tragic shooting at NAS Pensacola in Florida, and spoke to @GovRonDeSantis. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. We are continuing to monitor the situation as the investigation is ongoing.”

In a second tweet, Trump said, “King Salman of Saudi Arabia just called to express his sincere condolences and give his sympathies to the families and friends of the warriors who were killed and wounded in the attack that took place in Pensacola, Florida. The King said that the Saudi people are greatly angered by the barbaric actions of the shooter, and that this person in no way shape or form represents the feelings of the Saudi people who love the American people.”

DML News App Founder Dennis Michael Lynch responded, tweeting, “[S]hut the door on Saudi Arabia, wtf are we doing training terrorists how to fly planes!!!

“Please tell ‘the king he can keep his condolences,” Lynch continued in response to Trump’s second tweet. “They’re as useless as the last set of condolences he sent after 9/11. The Saudi people hate us, and they play politicians like a grand piano to suck us taxpayers dry while laughing along the way.”

Lynch followed up with a Facebook Live video, saying the shooting attack at the naval base is absolutely a terror attack and slammed the hesitancy of the U.S. government and the media to label it as such.

Lynch said Saudi Arabia is not an ally of the United States. “This is an act of terror by the Saudis, on U.S. soil!”

“After what took place by the Saudis on 9/11, the fact that we’re still even dealing with these people is beyond me,” he said, adding that the U.S. should not be training foreigners to fly – definitely not on U.S. soil, definitely not people from Saudi Arabia.
